Lasek Surgery

When i was in Pri sch, I still remb one of my classmate, meiqiang, she loooked very different from all of us…

She was wearing a pair of glasses, and at that point of time, I deemed wearing glasses to be real coooooll…

and i ♥ to play with her glasses…

Till one day, I complained to my mum dat im feeling quite giddy at times…..

and my mum wrote a small note in my health book(navy color!), so dat when the nurses visit, they will tk note of dat…

I cannot really remb hw i broke the news to my parents dat i need to wear glasses…

bt i rembered their reaction was, ” SEEEE! ALWAYS SIT TOO CLOSE TO THE TV LAAAA”

To be frank,  i was pretty excited and looking forward to my first pair of glasses~~ =p

I didnt realise i looked so !@#! last time….

Anw, i wore my first pair of contact lenses during our PJC prom….

Btw, Shark u look damn hot without glasses la!!! phewwwwweeeeet~

From dat day onwards, when im out, i would choose to wear contact lens…

Till one day, one of my relative from malayis went for a lasik/lasek surgery and he feeedbacked to my dad dat it was really gd….

and surprisingly, my parents encouraged me to go for it as well…..

cos during that time (abt 5 years ago), lasik/lasek surgery in spore cost abt $3000 per eye?

Ok i side track a little, (if im nt wrong)

Lasik surgery can be done on both eyes on the same day and it doesnt hurt as much compared to Lasek..

As for Lasek surgery, it can only operate on one eye at a time and have to wait for a month later, for the next eye to be operated on..

Reason being…

It depends on the thickness of ur cornea, some pple have very thin cornea(just like my mum), dats why she cannot even do any of the surgery..

Personally i feel,

the pain that i encountered during that period was purely caused by DRYNESS of the eye….

especially early in the morning when u wake up, dats de time when my eye was super vulnerable…

cannot blink hard, must blink damn slowly…

if not u will have the feeling of “sands rubbing in ur eyes”, and its seriously freaking painful…

Moreover at night, i have to zzz with eye guard on so as to prevent myself from rubbing my eyes..

As for the surgery itself, it was VERY FAST and it doesnt really hurt at all…

u just have to open ur eyes and stare at a “red light”(laser) for 30 seconds…..?

and the operation is complete!

it takes only abt 10-15min at most..

The aftercare is very imprtant, because i had to apply eye drops religiously everyday…

every 4 hours or 2 hours(cannot remb) i had to apply once..

and when im outside, i have to wear shades dat has uv protection..

For those of u who is pondering whether u should do it or nt…..

its best if u can go to de doctor and seek for consultaion first…

they will do the necessary measures and determine whether u are suitable for the operation..

Ive neva regret doing it (despite de fact that i heard alot of scary stories before i went for it), and im really glad that my parents encouraged me to go ahead with it~~

bt i tink thereis a little side effect, that is, i’m like completely blind when i go to those dark places…

night blindness?

not sure whether ive gt night blindnessss last time or just after this op..

anw it doesnt matter…

i dun have to search for my glasses when i wake up anymore!
