Tawandang Microbrewery; The Modern Thai Cuisine

Thinking of what to have for dinner with your group of friends and where to head for desserts or a couple of drinks after? At Tawandang, you can save the hassle of travelling from one place to another. It’s an ideal place for dinner and a ideal place for chill!

This is my 2nd time here at Tawandang, they have good live band, good food and nice ambience. Brought my parents this time round to try the highly raved Deep Fried Pork Knuckle. It’s one of the best I’ve tried so far, cripsy and most importanly it does not have this pig stench which can be quite unbearable.

This plain -looking cabbage is good stuff!

 

The fish is a little too hard but the sauce is awesome, it’s like tomyam but without the spiciness.

Genting Trip 2009

I think its a must for us to travel to genting once a year.

becos,

1)  we ♥ the weather

2)  we ♥ the free hotel rooms

3)  WE ♥ TO GAMBLE!

Aiyah, I don’t really gamble, usually I just sit beside momo and watch him play, so exciting!

Anw, we went to First World Plaza for dinner, I had my first Asam Laksa there and it taste AWFUL!!

Ah lian once said, choose pizza in pizza hut, choose pasta in pastamania, dun geh kiang.

I guess it applies for Asam Laksa also, Penang Asam Laksa is still the best!

Okay, I shall let the pictures do the talking!

Momo’s sis went with us as well! her laughter is contagious!

We prepared a mini bdae cake for my brother who is turning turned 19 when the clock struck 12.

On the 2nd night, We had our dinner at Genting Mushroom Farm.

For those of you who are sick of eating genting over-priced food,

ITS A MUST TO PATRONISE THIS ZHI CHAR RESTAURANT!

All u have to do is to give them a call and arrange to meet them at your hotel lobby, they will have a van to pick u guys up.

It’s only a 5- min journey to the restaurant.

Really Cheap and good! We ordered like 8 dishes and the bill was less than SGD100.

Major Room Revamp

One day, I gt really sick of my boring room, and decided to give my room a new face- lift!

Here’s a little preview of my BEFORE-ROOM.

Shopping for the new furnitures was really fun, somehow i knw wat i wanted for the new room and IKEA has everything~!

And imagined buying a bed frame, a book shelf, a full length mirror ETCETC, without IKEA’s delivery services.

How on earth did we do it?

First step:

Hire a Macho man.

Ok he is quite shy and he do not want to be seen.

 

Step 2:

He must be skillful.

See, he’s trying to gather all his energy to lift up the mirror

Still can pose and smile for the camera. hahaha!

Things wouldnt have gone so smoothly without my sis and momo.

Actually the headache part was the cleaning, packing and furniture installation.

A pity that my dad wasnt free to join us on sun, hopefully we will be able to catch the coming  jack neo’s homedy( Horror + Comedy) soon in August!

 

I would give “Murderer”  4 stars out of 5.

That missing star is to account for all the bloody scenes and the movie is a tad draggy.

Those blooody scenes were’nt as gruesome and sick as those in SAW….

Momo and I seldom watch movies, and if we watched we only watched those comedy n more light hearted ones..

This one is an exception becos my sista kept saying its very nice, the thriller is very exciting and my mum was quite enthu abt it too.

I woud say we were all amazed by the storyline, really unexpected twist….

Plus there’s isnt a doubt why aaron was crowned the jinma/jinzhong 影帝..  thumbs up for his acting!

NEW HAIR DYE-NEW HAIR STYLE-NEW HAIR BAND..

i only managed to get 1 done..

i dyed my hair to a darker shade this time round, becos i dun wanna dye anymore! so troublesome!

And im kinda pissed, I browsed through the magazines and saw something i like.. bt e hairstylist didnt dare to cut..

or rather i should say he REFUSED TO..

cos he said my hair is long and stuff

cut already wasted.

wth.

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE.

Guangzhou Day 1

 We woke up pretty early around 3 plus am to prepare and get ready for our flight at 6+am..

Momo was really sweet to volunteer to send us to the airport AND was officially appointed the housekeeper and yuki’s-babysitter! haha lonely momo~

 My sis, bro and mum were there at the counter to check-in first, as the baggage exceeded the weight limit, they had to remove some of the items in the luggage and hand-carry them instead. Who noes, after packing when my bro was abt to carry the luggage up the trolley…

The whole luggage FLUNG OPEN. Imagine u see underwears and clothes all over the place.. -_-

SO EMABARRASSING! all thks to my sis who FORGOT to lock the luggage.

And at that moment, our reaction was to stuff all the things back to the luggage, bt my dad, being the perfectionist, he wanted everything to be folded nicely instead.

Anw, despite the mini hiccup, everything was smooth and pleasant after that.

Ooo ya maybe nt for my dad, he was quite unlucky to sit beside this china man on flight who kept coughing non-stop..

That explains the following picture..

Look at my dad! Poor him gt to remain in that position for quite some time..

As for my bro, he can zzz almost anywher,everywher!

And my mum, she’s addicted to my dslite. After the china trip, she still ask me to lend her my dslite cos she wanna play..

After abt 4 hours of flight…

We finally reached!

 On the bus to the hotel..

 The weather was pretty cold and was drizzling slightly when we alighted from the bus..

That’s our first meal in Guangzhou..

 The 双皮奶 dessert is like their speciality… BUT I DISLIKE IT!

Though the texture was really soft and smooth but it’s super milky……..pukes.

After a light lunch, we continued our journey to find the hotel!

Considered the best room we had in our 8days trip.

My Sweet “18″ Part 3

 My last 2 hours before i turn 2*  was spent in the airport, waiting for my parents to arrive from bkk!

its kinda exciting cos this is like the first time welcoming my parents back, they hardly go on a holiday due to their hectic work schedule..

de 3 of us waited patiently….while momo waited  for us somewher near the carpark..

the car park charges is a killer!

Woohoo~~~!  welcome home!!!!

 

After sending them home, momo asked me to follow him home first to get something. Silly him wanted to go allllllll de way to Mount faber to cut the bdae cake, cos the view and scenery is nicer~!  i was rather surprised cos momo is nt a romatntic kinda person.. ha bt still, i chose to have the cake cutting in his hse.. faster and nearer!

THANK U MO@! i knw u rushed to cwp to gt the cake once u finish work!

 

 After the cake-cutting,  its pressie-searching time! ha as usual, he hid my pressie in his wardrobe…. and he bought 2 pressies for me this year!

 

 

 The actual day was a simple and sweet affair with my family!

 

 We went to the chinese alacarte buffet that momo’s sis brought us to the previous time..

MONEY NO ENUF 2

1st time in my life, I watched movie with my whole family.

When we were young, my mum used to bring us( sis,bro and myself) to Tampines to watch movies like,

THE MASK, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN…

We always get to choose wat we wanna watch, cos my mum will end up zzzz in the cinema..

Anw, back to last night,

I had an appt so the whole oOi family gotta accomodate me and watch the last show!

Though i was 20 min late, I ENJOYED THE SHOW SO MUCH!

And i enjoyed watching my parents’ expressions even more! they were laughing so hard that i could even hear them from a distance away..

This is the 1st time, we watched movie with our papa, and according to my dad,

THIS WAS E FIRST TIME MY DAD AND MUM WATCHED MOVIE TOGETHER.

(he dun like to watch movie, he only watch BRUCE LEE’s shows before..)

I’m so sorry for nt updating for quite some time~~

Anw, Dad brought us to a restaurant near bugis, cos we bought him a lovely keypouch from DH for FATHER’s DAY!

THe Hong Shao Ji was DOPE!

On a I-cant-remb-when day, Momo and I decided to try the spag from BakerzIn,

My pasta taste better den his! haha esp de gigantic sausages..

We had this for dessert, HMMMM… i stil prefer the Souffle from Aromas Cafe~!

On a random night, I suggested CHOMPCHOMP(haha AGAIN~!@~@) for our dinner~~~!

Besides ordereing the same old stuff, we had a few new items on the table like porridge, macaroni and..

More desserts! the mango beancurd taste like mango pudding~~ really soft and nice! worth a try!

As u guys can see from e pic, 6ADULTS in a table…..

damn squeezy bt was damn fun la!

On a my-parents-were-free day….

they drove me to work, after my work, we proceeded to IMM for breakfast and SHOPPING!

Sis and I suggested “BBQ & Steamboat” for lunch! Look at the huge crabbbbbby my dad picked!

HUMONGOUS! DELICIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Momo and I went over to Geylang to satisfy our craving for DIM SUM!

And dat place is none other than 温到食!

They serve the best Fried Beancurdskin with prawns and OTAH!

As for the kong ba bao, it is not dat gd~

Straight after our dimsum, we headed to Bugis for some desserts!

We cant live without Desserts!
