My very first blog post began on the 14th of Sept 2004.
Back then, my buddy, Rhineo wrote the very first blog post on behalf of me.
In the past the purpose of a blog was to express my feelings freely without any restrictions.
Slowly, I began to love to share what is going around in my life.
From the things that I eat, interesting articles that I read, things that I bought, places I’ve travelled etc etc.
This is how jane001.wordpress.com came about.
For those of you who don’t know me,
A very warm welcome to you.
My name is Jane Ooi, which explains my blog domain.
Standing at 1.78m tall,
Pisces.
I am a typical Pisces and I believe in horoscope to a certain extent.
Basically I am sensitive and introspective which lead to a pretty emotional me.
It’s hard for others to understand me and sometimes I find it hard to understand myself too.
My temperament varies from being optimistic to being acutely pessimistic.
I admit I lacked an adequate sense of self-confidence because since young I’ve been receiving unnecessary attention from the public due to my not-very-normal-height.
I do not feel good being tall and I never dreamt that I will have a chance to wear heels in my entire life.
However, my life took a drastic change when I was spotted at Junction 8 by Deanna (formerly from Carrie) to join a modelling competition organised by SPH, 联合早报.

From then on, I was made to wear heels, which was a major obstacle for me as I’ve never wear heels before and I had to learn to strut on the runway.

Besides wearing heels, (don’t worry I don’t usually wear heels unless on assignments.) I also learned to apply make-up and it has become a mundane thing to do whenever I go out now.
This modelling experience really taught me a lot and all of a sudden I was forced to grow out of my shell, facing this industry that I seriously never ever thought of being in it.

Despite holding the title, I was really pretty much the same old Jane, low confidence, not that ambitious. I just do whatever things that were thrown to me and had little expectations of what might come along.

Also with the title, I was very fortunate to have a chance to represent Singapore in the International Modelling Competition in Shanghai.

I am blessed with very supportive family who specially flew over to support me as well as my Bff who was also there with me when the contest took place. She was the winner for the Guess-the-Champion SMS voting system.

This trip was really an eye-opener and a lifetime experience for me.
Modelling aside,
I love my family and friends!

My family consists of my parents, younger sis, younger bro and my dog, Yuki!

My parents are the best daddy and mummy in the world!
As for Yuki aka 龙宝宝, she is 9 this year and very adorable.
She is beginning to understand us (yes, after 9 years), respond to us and most importantly pee and poo at the right place.
We love her.

As for friends,
I’d rather have a few good friends who are genuine than tons of friends who are fake.
I am really glad I have a handful of really good buddies who have gone through thick and thin with me.

I always believe,

“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.”
I am contented with what I have now, like what I have mentioned in my post, “As we grow older, our priority changes..”

We may not spend as much time talking online or chilling out together, my ear/shoulder is always available; most willing to offer a listening ear for people with problems and a shoulder for friends to cry on.

You guys should know who you are.

Lastly,
I’ve got to mention this very special someone who brought me countless joy, laughter and of course, occasional anger.

He is none other than the person I mentioned the most in my blog, Momo!

(he is defintely going to kill me for this! =p)
He loves me for who I am.
He understands me the most.
He tolerates my temper and nonsense. (ok sometimes he don’t, that explained the quarrelling part haha)
He treats my family like his own.
His family treats me really well, I’m really grateful for this.
He is always by my side. (ok not anymore, because of his busy work schedule, which is good, more work=more $ haha)
He will always assure me.
He takes care of me and protects me.
He will always take my opinions seriously.
The list goes on and on…
Last but not least,
“ Momo,
Thank you for embarking this journey with me, my life will not be complete without you…
사랑해.”
